Day 1: Casablanca » Rabat » Fes [294 km]
Your adventure begins with a sightseeing tour of Casablanca, where we’ll visit the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world, and explore the Corniche. Depending on time, we’ll also visit other attractions.
Next, we head to Rabat, the administrative capital, to visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower. In the afternoon, we continue towards Fes, passing through Meknes with a stop at Bab Mansour, before arriving and checking into your hotel in Fes.
After breakfast, we drive to Ifrane, the Swiss-style town, then to Azrou to visit the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary Apes.
After lunch in Midelt, we travel towards Merzouga, stopping for panoramic views of Ziz Valley. Arriving in the Merzouga Sahara, we’ll embark on a camel trek through the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night in a fully-equipped desert camp, enjoying a traditional Berber dinner with music.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise. After breakfast and a shower, we head towards Tinghir and Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco.
After lunch, we continue to Dades Valley, exploring its stunning castles and rock formations before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
After breakfast, we journey through the Dades Valley, known for its “Thousand Kasbahs,” with plenty of opportunities for photos.
We stop in Kalaat Mgouna, the “Pink City,” before reaching Ouarzazate, where we visit Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios. We continue towards Marrakech, passing Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed kasbah built by El Glaoui in the 18th century. The tour concludes as we drive through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass over the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
